Agricultural scholarships can help cover the cost of an agriculture education. The prices for learning continue to increase so it makes sense to get the help that you can with it all. Agriculture is such a big part of our society. There are plenty of educational programs out there teach various types of agricultural jobs. The world of agriculture is important to survival of everyone. It has to do with more than just growing food, it also has to do with successfully preserving the value of the land where it is grown.

A person has a better chance of getting the job they want in this field if they have a good education. Checking out the following scholarships offered in agriculture for 2011 can help to ease your mind when it comes to covering the cost of all of it. Then you can focus your time and attention on doing well in the program. It can be very hard to work and go to college. With a few nice ag scholarships you can focus more on your education.

The National Beef Ambassador Program offers agricultural scholarships of $1,000. Applications are taken from February 1st through April 15th. They award 10 ag scholarships annually. The winners have to agree to give presentations at various engagements as part of the National Beef Ambassador Team.

Sigma Xi Grants in Aid of Research offer five scholarships for agriculture of $1,000 each annually. They also offer one scholarship of $2,500 per year to a student in the area of astronomy. There are two application periods per year – from January 1st through March 15th and from August 1st through October 15th. The scholarship can be renewed up to four years as long as the students remain in good standing and enrolled full time.

The Marshall E. McCullough Memorial Scholarship is one for high school seniors that plan to enroll in a four year college. Their area of study must by dairy or animal science. Applications are taken from January 1st through April 15th annually. The amount of the ag scholarship is $1,500 per year and can be renewed up to four years per recipient. They award this scholarship in agriculture to one student each year.

One of the great scholarships out there for agriculture is from the National Potato Council Scholarship. They award $5,000 for a graduate student in the area of agribusiness that will be supportive of the potato industry. They award one agriculture scholarship annually to an individual that shows interest in the potato industry, business leadership, and overall contributions to their community and college. The application period is from March 1st through June 15th annually.

The Beef Industry scholarship is sponsored by CME Group and The National Cattlemen’s Foundation. Applications are accepted from August 1st through December 1st. They offer 10 scholarships in agriculuture of $1,500 each. Students must show that they are doing well in school and community. They also have to show a desire to earn a four year college degree in a field that will benefit the beef industry.

The NOPHNRCSE Scholarship is open to Hispanic students that will be pursuing a four year degree in conservation. They offer two scholarships for agriculture, $1,000 each. The applications are taken from February 1st through April 15th.

The Nell Goff Memorial Scholarship accepts applications from January 1st through March 1st. Students that are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the areas of horticulture, forestry, or conservation can apply. Students must be at least a sophomore in college to be eligible and in good standing at their school. The agricultural scholarship awards 5 scholarships each year for $1,500 each.

Don’t let the amount of money a given college program is going to stop be a barrier you can’t overcome especially if you love the agricultural industry because it’s fast growing and more dynamic then many realize. Any of these types of 2011 agricultural scholarships can aid with helping someone to pursue their dreams. The cost of education isn’t cheap, but if you put some effort into looking for scholarships for agriculture you will find that you can develop a plan to pay for it all that is reasonable and manageable.

      have you looked into student bursaries from colleges and your own government because they are easy to apply to and easier to get then all private bursary programs. Government programs many times have agriculture bursaries.
